While I run my business completely on line, I truly enjoy attending in-person events and seminars within La and round the country. I am sure you discover these events valuable too. The issue just about everyone has with networking, however, is following up with the folks we meet.
A good way to follow-up powerfully and automatically would be to turn these people in to e-zine subscribers. This helps to ensure that you will have the opportunity to over and over teach them how great your products/services are while building their rely upon you.
But how can you "capture" people personally? Remember, you are able to NEVER sign somebody up unless they specifically request you to be registered - it's unethical.

If you are using the company card method, tell the audience to create an "E" for e-zine on the card - this tells you they would like to be subscribed to your newsletter. Some speakers do the alternative, and tell the audience when they don't desire to be subscribed for their e-zine, to place a "NO" on the card, but I am much more comfortable with the former method.
Remember, Your List Is the Goldmine!
People you meet personally is going to be very valuable subscribers, because they have already met you. And we are all prone to purchase from the others whom we all know, like, and trust.
Your in-person meeting will begin that process, as well as your e-zine will follow-through for you personally, automatically!
